“Families are messy. Immortal families are eternally messy. Sometimes the best we can do is to remind each other that we’re related for better or for worse…and try to keep the maiming and killing to a minimum.”

The heroic son of Poseidon makes an action-packed comeback in the second must-read installment of Rick Riordan’s amazing young readers series. Starring Percy Jackson, a “half blood” whose mother is human and whose father is the God of the Sea, Riordan’s series combines cliffhanger adventure and Greek mythology lessons that results in true page-turners that get better with each installment. In this episode, The Sea of Monsters, Percy sets out to retrieve the Golden Fleece before his summer camp is destroyed, surpassing the first book’s drama and setting the stage for more thrills to come. What I think of it

I’ll never stop loving Percy Jackson

Luke poisoned the tree of Thalia which normally protects the camp. The only thing that would heal the tree is the Golden Fleece. In the first book Percy was asked to go on a Quest, this time he was asked to stay in the camp for his own safety and leave the Quest to another Half-Blood but Percy wouldn’t be Percy if he would do what is asked.

Personally I think this book was better than The lighting thief.

I adored the the new character, Tyson, Percy’s new friend/brother. I liked how Rick made their relationship realistic. I think anyone would react the same way like Percy did on the news of having a (cyclops) brother.

The way their relationship grows throughout the book is amazing. I really really hope that Tyson will be in the next books.

I’m so glad I bought all the books in a box set so I can start the third book right away because the ending was a huge cliffhanger 😮 😮
